Required:

Earned doctorate in Range Science, Animal Science, or closely related field from an accredited university. Proven track record to effectively teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Range and Livestock including, but not limited to: Beef Cattle Production, Rangeland Ecology, Wildland Plants, and Grazing Management. Experience with working with landowners and ranchers to meet ranch management goals. Ability to communicate effectively with students, natural resource professionals and scientists, ranch managers and landowners, and the general public. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player who is willing to work in a multidisciplinary program.

Preferred:

Preferred educational emphasis in grazing, livestock, and rangeland interactions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Appointment Date: Summer or Fall 2024.

Candidate will be expected to teach 2 courses each long semester; serve as academic advisor to undergraduate and graduate students; participate in appropriate conferences and meetings; and provide service through outreach activities. Additionally, candidate will work with the staff at the Center for Land Stewardship and Stakeholder Engagement (BRI) and other partners to provide technical guidance and develop rangeland inventories and grazing management plans for cooperating landowners and partners.

Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.

Position is Security Sensitive.

Other Information:

Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.

The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
