SEL is looking for an Electronics Test Engineer to join our Manufacturing Test Engineering team and help in our mission to build and ship products with uncompromising quality.
Our products are deployed into critical infrastructure systems around the world and must work flawlessly for decades to make electrical power safer, more reliable, and more economical. Our Test Engineers are on the frontlines of designing the test methodologies and systems that ensure we ship the highest quality products.
This problem space provides a unique opportunity to work hands-on with SEL products, instrumentation, test automation hardware & software. Our ideal candidate has a background in electronics instrumentation, test engineering, or hardware design and thrives in a collaborative environment.
A typical day as an Electronics Test Engineer might include the following:
- Collaborating with product design engineers to establish test methodologies and coverage for new products.
- Designing new test approaches, hardware, instrumentation, and automation.
- Coordinating with other Test Engineers, Software Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Test Operators, and Technicians to design, build, support, and improve custom test solutions.
- Continually monitoring and improving existing test systems and test coverage.
This job might be for you if you have the following:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Background writing test procedures and test documentation.
- Experience with electronic instrumentation and metrology.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills.
- An enthusiasm for learning new skills and solving hard problems.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Designing and developing production tests.
- Defining processes for in-circuit test.
- Automation of tests through software, hardware, and systems engineering.
- Design and construction of bed-of-nails test fixtures.
- Real-time test troubleshooting.
- Engineering leadership.

Pay Range Data:Associate Test Engineer: $60,800.00 to $95,000.00 annually. Test Engineer: $69,100.00 to $108,100.00 annually. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
