Technician

Orlando, FL

Contract Position

$26.68-$31.68/Hour

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate test sets, boxes, cables, and assemblies/subassemblies for tactical hardware development.
• Read, interpret, and occasionally correct engineering drawings/schematics.
• Place and solder components on circuit cards, subassemblies, and fabricate wiring harnesses, including connector pinning/de-pinning and applying mounting hardware.
• Build-up lower-level assemblies into single or multi-bay cabinet assemblies for Engineering or Manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members, including fabricators, draftsmen, procurement, and quality inspectors.
• Use computer-based programs to update job status, quality inspections, and manage engineering changes.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma required.
• Experience:
  • 1+ year of electrical fabrication experience (e.g., cable/harness, SMT board, test equipment).
  • Familiarity with automated/general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers, waveform generators).
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly repairs and troubleshooting using test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and repair procedures.
  • Experience fabricating electrical test equipment using blueprints, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Knowledge of basic avionics/electronics and electrical technology.
• Desired Skills:
  • Solder certification (e.g., J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721) is preferred.
  • Experience with fault isolation, CCA component rework, and BGA repair.
  • Knowledge of hardware repair concepts and electro-mechanical component troubleshooting.
