The COP Purchasing Manager is responsible for all facets of Product Procurement, the management of Divisional inventory assets, and maintaining the staffing required fulfilling these responsibilities.
Essential Duties:
- Meet established goals for Order Fill measured by daily lost sales.
- Establish and track the performance of each associate in Purchasing
- Responsible for the coaching and development of COP team across multiple markets promoting and providing business solutions including providing consulting expertise on the key product considerations
- Meet established Inventory level requirements measured by average monthly inventory as a percent to cost of goods sold.
- Create purchasing benchmarks and monitor category performance to meet or exceed KPI objectives as set by Category Management. Ensure activities are in accordance with defined company standards and guidelines. Execute supplier performance reviews
- Manage SKU count measured by total SKU's, Aged Inventory, and slow-moving items.
- Manage cost of goods through vendor management, opportunity buys, commodity purchases, and cost of freight.
- Responsible for recruiting, training, recognition, and discipline for department, measured by turnover ratio and tenure.
- Support COP initiatives for Gold Canyon Meat Co. and Broadline branches
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or 5 or more years of experience in Supply Chain with a focus on Demand disciplines for at least 3 years.
- Background in data management, modeling, and scenario planning
- Experience with Demand Planning software (ie: ForecastPro, Logility, Clarity) a plus.
- Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which is generally limited to weekdays but may be subject to evenings or weekends due to project or department needs.
- Must be able to travel for annual events
- Extensive experience with purchasing management systems, inventory control processes, implementation, and management.
- Broadline Purchasing experience preferred, and/or background in highly perishable product procurement
- Strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Experience with contract negotiation
- Strong team approach to management and ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines
- Strong commitment and established track record of processes documentation and improvement.
