Position Summary:
The Structural Concrete Superintendent manages the activities of the workforce, materials, trucking, and equipment and tracks daily/weekly progress for multiple mid-sized projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
30% Management
- Work with Foremen and General Superintendent / Project Manager to ensure daily and weekly plans are met and daily timesheets are accurately completed and submitted.
- Work with Equipment/Logistics Department daily to ensure jobs are resourced properly; monitor Fleetwatcher and GPS daily
- Assign personnel to projects and communicate expectations, goals, and management aspects of the project
- Participate in weekly toolbox talks, staff meetings, and all safety programs; ensure Foremen follow the safety plan
- Assist Foremen in preparing progress schedules; visit job sites for safety review
- Assist Estimator/Project Manager in the pre-bid process; participate in pre-construction planning, ensure resources are available
- Assist the project team in delivering safe, quality, on-time, and profitable project's to stakeholders
- Implement appropriate new procedures for constant improvements of our safety, quality and production.
30% Operations
- Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
- Hire additional subcontractors and assign work accordingly.
- Ensure that work is executed to the highest quality and in accordance to the drawings and specifications
- Maintain a daily log for the job site's operations and report to management as necessary.
- Participate in weekly group staff meeting
- Assist project management team in navigating through conflict management with stakeholders
15% Business relations •
- Support customer needs and develop a trusting relationship to promote the company for future projects.
- Collaborate with clients, inspectors, project managers, and other construction management to determine budgets and timelines.
10% Human Resources
- Maintain proper staffing levels by hiring, staffing, and training non-exempt field positions.
- Evaluate personnel issues in a timely, consistent manner in accordance with company standards.
- Collaborate with HR on all Human Resources issues.
- Mentor and develop direct employees in their roles.
10% Safety & Training
- Work with and develop Foremen and crew members for future leadership opportunities
- Adhere to and enforce all Barriere Construction Company's safety policies and procedures.
5% Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Required Education: Required Experience: - Five (5) years Foreman experience or equivalent experience overseeing multiple crews on structural concrete construction projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Advanced:

--Interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
--In-Depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations
Proficient:
--Organizational & time management skills
--Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues.
Basic:
--Ability to operate a computer, iPad, and use computer software.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred education: - Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field
Preferred Experience: - Seven (7) years of Foreman experience or equivalent experience overseeing multiple crews on structural concrete construction projects.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: - Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; fluency in Spanish is a plus
