The Staff Accountant is responsible for Program Finance and Accounting from program bid through execution. This includes contract management, proposal support, database management, and financial system (Costpoint) management. The candidate will be responsible for the execution of program finance processes and deliverables; inclusive of contract compliance, internal financial metrics reporting, Estimates at Completion (EAC), Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, rate management, and partnering with program management to analyze and assist in understanding their financial position.
This position will report to the Program Financial Manager, located in Baltimore, MD.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage costs (labor, direct costs, materials) at the task order and TI levels. This includes working with managers, employees, and accounts payable to ensure proper coding.

- Track and identify costs to prepare customer invoices. These reports are completed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. Manage billing milestones.
- Maintain Invoice Databases / AR Logs / Funding Logs.
- Maintain Audit Databases (monthly, quarterly, and yearly).
- Manage and oversee contract project code charging and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Assist with the maintenance of Deltek Costpoint accounting system.
- Provide support to Program Managers.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting (or equivalent experience).
- Government contract management (preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
- A self-starter with the demonstrated ability to take initiative, who can proactively identify
