Senior Structural Engineer- (Commercial Buildings)

Work Location: Hybrid, Plymouth, MN

As a Structural Engineer specializing in commercial buildings, you will be at the forefront of designing new structures and enhancing existing ones. Your role will involve:

• Engineering Excellence: Crafting new facilities, expansions, and retrofits by leveraging your analytical prowess, technical acumen, and familiarity with building codes.
• Innovative Solutions: Utilizing advanced software and precise manual calculations to devise solutions that are both innovative and compliant with construction norms.
• Leadership & Guidance: Offering direction and delegating tasks to both technicians and junior engineers.
• Project Proposals: Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and design documentation, as well as contributing to fee estimation.

Senior Engineer Responsibilities:

• Client Management: Building and maintaining client relationships, acting as the primary point of technical contact on projects.
• Technical Standards: Establishing benchmarks for technical superiority and efficiency, informed by sound engineering judgment and robust problem-solving skills.
• Team Development: Overseeing, mentoring, and training the engineering and technical team to deliver services of the highest standard.
• Project Management: Overseeing project details, including scope, timelines, financials, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
• Quality Assurance: Reviewing technical documents and ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards.
• Site Evaluations: Conducting on-site assessments and evaluations, with the possibility of up to 25% travel to various construction sites.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license, complemented by a minimum of 8 years of experience in the field.
