Senior Mechanical Engineer

Middletown, RI

Contract Position

$65.93 / Hourly

This position is supporting the next generation in developing mission critical systems for our national defense. You would be a part of creating the most effective and state of the art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies working with our military.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and test a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
• Advanced proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
• Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects with successful outcomes
• Exceptional communication skills with experience writing technical papers and proposals
• Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
• meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards; Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
