Position Title: Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting and Reporting

Location: San Francisco, CA

Your role

This role will give you the opportunity to expand your skills as a Senior Accountant in an exciting, specialized industry where you'll work independently and be in control of your assigned properties from an accounting standpoint. Under general supervision, you will have responsibilities related to a portfolio of properties, variance analysis, general ledger reconciliations, and presenting the data to Asset and Corporate Management with insights for better decision-making. What you'll do

This role assists the Accounting Manager with overseeing Joint Venture accounting, month end close and reporting functions.

• Preparing routine and non-routine journal entries, including accrual, management fee, capital contribution and distribution etc.
• Prepare account reconciliations and analysis, including cash, investment and equity, identifying potential issues and following up with resolutions.
• Prepare month end, quarter end and year-end income statement flux preparation and analysis for joint ventures. Process includes a thorough investigation of changes in, for instance, operating revenues and expenses.
• Prepare and analyze Joint Venture financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages for joint ventures managed by Digital Realty.
• Ongoing support of internal customer needs, specifically Asset Management, Operations, Sales, FPA, and Legal teams.
• Assist with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
• Performing ad hoc project as needed.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting. Knowledge of JV reporting is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of financial applications, concepts, and theories.
• Demonstrated proficiency in journal entry preparation, account reconciliation and analysis.
• Demonstrated aptitude with ERP systems, experience with Yardi is a plus.
• High degree of comfort and strong desire to work in fast, dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written. A quick learner.
• Advanced Excel knowledge is a must as this position will work with complex Excel spreadsheets on a monthly basis.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Team player and ability to work independently.
• Strong understanding of authoritative accounting literature that covers Real Estate and Corporate accounting groups.
