Pennsylvania American Water is seeking a Full-Time Senior Water Quality & Environmental Compliance Coordinator! This is a great opportunity if you're lookig to begin your career in the water industry! Apply TODAY to begin your career with Pennsylvania American Water!

Primary Role

  • Responsible for organizing advanced functions and activities related to environmental management and water quality, specifically related to the Lead Program.
  • Implements the school and day care requirements for the collection of water quality samples across the state.
  • Implements programs to ensure compliance with all water quality and environmental regulations.
  • Communicate Lead and Copper Rule Revisions required sample results to customers.
  • Investigates water quality complaints and determines course of action needed.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage monitoring and reporting programs to ensure compliance with federal and state water quality and environmental regulations and company standards for the Lead Program.
  • Conduct advanced sampling and/or analysis and special projects.
  • Obtain, prepare, file and maintain all regulatory reports and records.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and represent American Water with regulators and customers.
  • Identify potential issues and problems and initiate responsive actions and mitigate environmental violations.
  • Conduct advanced projects and prepare reports as needed.
  • Investigate and respond to escalated water quality complaints or concerns.
  • Responsible for planning, preparing and controlling the school and day care sampling requirements.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental standards and regulations and understanding of current environmental legislation and regulations.
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Experience/Education

  • Minimum Five (5) years' experience in water, wastewater, and laboratory operations.
  • In Lieu of 5 years experience , will consider applicants with a Bachelor's degree(Preferred) in environmental science/engineering or related science fields.

Certifications &Licenses

  • Valid Driver's License required with the ability to pass a motor vehicle report.

Other

  • Laboratory, Indoor/Outdoor, production/office environments.
  • Local and regional travel. Rare overnight travel may be required.
