Summary:
The Production Operations Manager plays a crucial role in cost control, ensuring compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA regulations, interpreting and enforcing company policies, managing the non-union program, and assessing manpower needs. This role also involves maintaining accurate records, problem-solving effectively, collaborating with department heads to achieve production goals, overseeing safety and quality standards, managing production supervisors, and leading shift operations.

Education: High School diploma required; college degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in a related industry; 5+ years of supervisory experience in a meat processing facility (preferably poultry); knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations.

Computer Skills: Proficient in standard computer applications.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively with team members at all levels and government officials.

Special Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage and mentor subordinate supervisors, conduct hiring and training, assign work, monitor performance, provide feedback, and resolve issues.

Travel: Occasional travel may be required (0-20%).

Other Requirements: Demonstrated leadership by example, sound judgment, decision-making skills, strong managerial capabilities, excellent safety and attendance records.
Responsibilities:
Control expenses and ensure compliance with federal meat inspection, OSHA, and company policies.
Maintain the non-union program and assess manpower needs.
Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
Solve problems effectively and follow up on actions.
Collaborate with department heads to achieve production, quality, and safety goals.
Oversee housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety standards.
Manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors.
Lead designated shift operations and handle other responsibilities assigned by the plant manager.
Note: This position is critical for ensuring food safety, food quality, and legality in accordance with company standards and regulations. All team members, including the Production Operations Manager, are responsible for safety and must exhibit strong leadership and safety practices.
