What You Will Contribute:


Job Profile Summary

The Group - Senior Reliability Engineer maintains Badger Meter quality systems and provides technical direction to the Quality Service Center and other departments to ensure the effective coordination and execution of projects as they relate to the quality of our processes, services, and products within our U.S. and Foreign Operations.

This role is critical in supporting all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environmental, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and metrics. This includes the ability to work with internal and external customers to support Badger Meter's corporate values and goals.

Essential Job Duties

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of Badger Meter Quality Service Centers (QSC).

• Lead and Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and/or Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA).

• Create and analyze monthly and quarterly reports. Support new metric development in a multi-site SQDCE environment by collaborating cross-functionally.

• Research new reliability processes and identify methods for predicting and improving component and product reliability.

• Support New Product Development (NPD) teams in the identification, scheduling, and execution of quality related deliverables.

• Provide launch/post launch data analytics ensuring quality system preparedness of people, process, and systems.

• Develop test plans and reports that support Change Qualification, New Product Development, and Performance Monitoring.

• Lead the development of inspection and test methodologies that demonstrate sufficient capability of meeting/exceeding quality requirements.

• Lead the utilization of data sources to improve customer quality by collaborating with cross functional teams to resolve top product issues and continually seek and identify additional opportunities for improvement.

• Provide disposition of non-conformances in a timely manner, assure that the proper corrective and preventive actions are taken, and follow up to assess effectiveness.

• Mentor group and site quality teams to develop skills and expand capabilities

Qualifications

• Maintain professional level and technical skills through memberships in technical and professional societies, and by attending appropriate courses and seminars.

• Bachelors' degree in engineering/related field or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

• Proficiency with MS Office and related products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)

• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

• Proficiency with Statistical Process Techniques, Failure Analysis, and Process Validation

• Advanced data analytic techniques utilizing Excel, MiniTab, MicroStrategy, PowerBI, SQL

• Lean Six Sigma practitioner, Black Belt certification preferred

• Knowledge in Quality Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AS9100)

• Strong Project Management Skills, certification preferred

• Up to 10% Travel, some International

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Fluent in English, additional languages like Spanish an advantage

• Strong problem-solving skills, preferred techniques; 8-Step, 8D, and/or A3

• Ability to work with teams and independently

• Ability to work effectively onsite and with remote locations

• Ability to multi-task and drive critical issues simultaneously
