RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Reston, VA.Roles and Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting: Senior Accountant will prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and government regulations
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor actual performance against budget
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other government regulations; Prepare for and support audits by government agencies
- Cost Accounting: Oversee cost accounting activities, including the allocation of costs to contracts and projects
- Internal Controls: As a Senior Accountant, you will develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Financial Analysis: Senior Accountant will conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and provide insights into financial performance
- Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in government contracting
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, DFARS, and other government regulations
- Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks), advanced Excel skills, and strong analytical abilities
- Attributes: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
