Job Description:
Plan, schedule, assign, and supervise the work activities of assigned staff to attain work goals, and to ensure consistent application of administrative policies, procedures, and standards. Train or supervise training of new personnel. Evaluate staff and supervise assigned security staff, including completion of performance evaluations, recommendation and documentation of personnel actions, and enforcement of work performance standards, as needed. Ensure proper monitoring and operation of security equipment; write reports and make Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) entries; monitor building maintenance and fire systems. Coordinate dispatching of security guard/state troopers to alarms, calls for assistance and coordinates with other agencies for medical, fire, and law enforcement needs; run reports, change and issue access cards; handle telephone calls from the public, state employees, and elected and appointed individuals; use the Nebraska Criminal Justice Information Services (NCJIS) website to obtain Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) records and protection orders; perform the duties of a security guard and/or security communications specialist as needed.
3rd shift 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Days off to be determined, however shifts may involve working days, evenings, and nights, along with weekends and holidays as needed for 24-hour coverage.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Any combinations of education, training, and/or experience that will enable an individual to possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A general qualification guideline for positions in this class is experience in an automated security communications center.
Preferred: Experience with CAD, and Microsoft programs.
