Risk, Controls, and Assurance Intern

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of our Indianapolis, IN or Mason, OH Elevance Health PulsePoint office(s).

An RCA Intern will be responsible for supporting our Risk, Controls, and Assurance team in ensuring the stability and compliance of audit and regulatory requirements/mandates. Key regulations supported by these efforts include Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), SOC1 reporting, SOC2 reporting, and the HiTrust Security certification.

This internship will be a full-time (40 hours/week) program that will run for 8-11 months with two cohorts, one starting in January 2025 and the other May 2025.

How you will make an impact:

  • Create and document results of control testing and review.
  • Provide research support, develop work programs, engagement plans and collaborate with audit team members.
  • Assess risk of IT systems, operational processes, and financial processes.
  • Document business processes dependent on information technology.
  • Analyzes results of specific or general work requests.
  • Having direct contact with external audit firms for purposes of audit planning and remediation

Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship and work in-office at least once per week.
  • Actively pursuing a Graduate Degree in either: Accounting, Business, Business Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related program (MSA, MSIS, MBA, etc).

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Access
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills
  • Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills
