The Opportunity

As a Risk & Compliance Professional in the Enterprise Strategy Division, you serve as an experienced resource to lead and support projects and assignments that are complex in nature. You are a champion for Caterpillar's Ethics and Compliance program. You will collaborate with team members within the division, as well as others across Caterpillar's compliance community, while concurrently managing multiple projects with the aim of effectively mitigating risk while providing efficient solutions that support the speed of business.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee key compliance programs such as the division's Data Privacy program
  • Provide back-office support for the Enterprise Risk Management process
  • Lead/support projects that are focused on ensuring risk is appropriately managed
  • Coordinate the timely completion of internal reporting requests
  • Support Interdepartmental Procedures (IDP) and division compliance dashboard reporting needs
  • Proactively conduct IT compliance assessments to ensure alignment with Information Security Directives
  • Support internal and external audits - planning and remediation
  • Enhance and maintain the compliance resource SharePoint site
  • Identify, enhance, and deploy compliance related tools
  • Benchmark with other Risk and Compliance professionals to identify and implement compliance program enhancements
  • Serve as a resource when division personnel need compliance support
  • Lead proactive training sessions
  • Assist with newsletters and other communications where proactive compliance messages are incorporated
  • Lead Record Retention program initiatives
  • Support compliance in inherent risk areas such as, but not limited to: Fair Competition, Anti-bribery, Export Controls, Insider Trading Policy, Data Privacy, Enterprise Risk Management, Competitive Intelligence gathering, Contracts/Agreements, Third-party risks, and Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.
What You Have:
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of business process problems, and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with internal clients, vendors and peers
  • Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risk of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations
  • Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control or enhance existing business or work processes
  • Audit and Compliance: Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of the Audit and Compliance function; ability to develop and execute audit programs and manage the remediation processes
  • Project Management: Ability to plan, organize, monitor and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives
  • Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to develop and deploy new tools
Top Candidates Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting or finance degree
  • Prior experience developing/leading compliance programs in some of the fore mentioned inherent risks areas
  • Audit/assessment experience
  • Experience in leading effective risk mitigation projects
Additional Info:
  • This position will be located in Peoria
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify
  • May require international and/or domestic travel up to 10%.
