Duties: To provide general lab support and to carry out research in support for the lab's microbiome programs: (1) Be responsible for all aspects of managing and processing tissue and other samples used in microbiome studies, including samples collected through the Penn/CHOP Microbiome Program Biospecimen Core. This will include interfacing with clinical personnel who have collected samples, overseeing sample management within the lab, and distribution to other lab members for projects. (2) General lab management including equipment maintenance, ordering, lab meeting organization, general personnel supervision, etc. (3) Independently carry out research involving microbiome analysis on clinical sample-based project as designated by the PI, including wet bench and bioanalytical components. (4) Assist other lab personnel with related research projects. (5) Be responsible for training new laboratory personnel (technician, grad student, postdoc, etc.) in relevant methodology, and provide in-lab supervision.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
