Job Description:

This position is for Forklift Operator PR03 in the Danville, VAfacility. The Team Member will be responsible forensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely mannerwhile maintaininga safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Operatesin a safe manner, and in accordance toall company policies and procedures.
  

• Uses a handheld computer to pick and scan product.
  

• Communicates effectively with other TM's and assistsin coordinating to accomplishall assigned tasks.
  

• Operatespowered pallet jack, forklift and/or reach truck. Inspects daily, charges batteries, maintainsbattery water level, and changes batteriesas necessary.
  

• Delivers raw materials, packaging, and pallets to the appropriate productionareas.
  

• Moves inventory in an organized manner to store in a subzero freezer, cooler, and a dry goods area.
  

• Moves finished goods and work-in-progress from production lines to the shipping area.
  

• Unloads trucks.
  

• Covers and stretch-wraps pallets.
  

• Ensures assigned production lines are continuously supplied with clean raw materials and packaging.
  

• Records movement transactions in the SAP system.
  

• Ensures all raw materials and finished goods are labeled correctly.
  

• Maintainan organized and clean work environment according to 5S principles, GMP's, and USDA regulations.
  

• Reports any damages, discrepancies, unsafe behaviors, and risks to Lead.
  

Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of one year of forklift experience with one employer in the past 24 months. Three years forklift experience preferred.
  
• Must be able to lift a 50pounds and push/pull 100 lb.
  

• Must be able to stand for long periods.
  

• Must wear steel/composite toe boots that conform to site requirements.
  

• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends.
  

• Must be able to work in a cold environment ( -10 degrees below zero to 40 degrees F).
  

Requirements:

• Applicants who have worked for Tyson before may be considered for rehire up to three times if they meet the location's rehire criteria.
• Applicants will not be considered prior to 6 months post previous Tyson employment.
• Applicants that do not show up on time for, tour, pre-employment drug test, post offer health assessment, orientation, or fail to reschedule any part of the pre- employment process unless arrangements are made in advance will not be considered further.
• Applicants that have a positive or adulterated drug screen or who are unable or refuse to give a sample will not be considered further and must wait a minimum of 6 months to reapply.
• Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
