SUMMARY

Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Quality Control Officer for the East Coast Security Operations team. The Quality Control Officer is a dynamic job that requires physical, mental, and cognitive abilities. The Quality Control Officer will need to ensure that all BSNC contracts are in compliance with contract requirements. This position will require travel to various locations, to include, but not limited to the following states: Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington, DC, New York, and New Jersey. Overnight travel will be required for certain locations.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the Quality Control Manager with managing and executing the QA/QC Plan/Program as per company policy and contract requirements.
  • Work with all stakeholders and counterparts to ensure contract compliance and record-keeping requirements are adhered to.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of security personnel, protocols, systems, and procedures to ensure compliance with established standards, regulations, and contract requirements, forwarding all reports to the Quality Control Manager for review and dissemination.
  • Collaborate with security personnel to identify vulnerabilities and recommend correction actions to mitigate risks.
  • Advise the Quality Control Manager on QA/QC findings and make recommendations for improvements to procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of access control systems/procedures, surveillance equipment, and other security measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of security assessments, inspections, and actions taken to address identified issues.
  • Ensure that assigned Security Operation locations are fully compliant with each location's specific contract requirements.
  • Provide reports as required to the Quality Control Manager; notifying the Quality Control Manager promptly of any/all serious concerns noted, or performance concerns.
  • Recommend site specific training topics to the Quality Control Manager based on field observations of officer performance.
  • In conjunction with a Site Safety & Health Officer conducts Safety & Environmental Health inspections as per contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with external agencies or authorities to ensure alignment with security standards and regulations.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)
  • Associate's degree from an accredited university and 5 years' experience in the military, law enforcement, or commercial guard forces. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Ability to identify issues/problems and provide solutions.
  • Proven experience in security operations and quality control within a corporate or organizational setting.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance or higher.
  • United States citizen OR Lawful Resident who is has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence or employment as evidenced by Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services documentation.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license for state resided in.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Familiarity with security technologies, access control systems, and surveillance equipment.
  • Prior experience performing audits/inspections in a military, law enforcement, or correctional environment.
  • Prior experience in performing PBNDS, ACA or similar audits.

  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in both an office setting as well as outdoors depending on the job site/location. Job sites may be outdoors, or indoors. During visits to job sites, the individual may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, hazardous noise, fall hazards, heights in excess of 10 feet, confined spaces, live traffic, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous materials, unexploded ordinance, and dimly lit areas. Travel to various job sites is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
