A role you will love

This role will support the Computershare Trust Investment Operations family of applications, which include both publicly accessible and internal applications. This QA Automation Engineer will be part of an engineering team focused on delivering technical solutions. In addition, this role will be responsible for ensuring the quality of multiple projects simultaneously and will provide technical guidance on automation and manual testing for a variety of systems and solutions.

Other Responsibilities Include:

• Test Automation Development: Responsible for the delivery of test analysis, design, implementation, and execution activities to assess the functional suitability of software delivered, with a strong focus on automation.

• Requirement Clarification: Solicits feedback to clarify and understand requirements, drawing out implied requirements to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

• Risk Analysis: Performs and applies risk analysis to assess the likelihood and impact of software failure, defining the optimum breadth and depth of automated test coverage.

• Test Design: Uses formal test design techniques to translate requirements into clearly defined, prioritized automated test cases.

• Traceability: Ensures clear traceability between requirements/acceptance criteria and automated test cases.

• Test Management Tools: Utilizes recognized test management tools to prepare and execute automated test cases.

• Defect Logging: Recognizes and logs valid defects in the relevant test/defect management tools.

• Automation Assets: Utilizes test repositories and automation assets to reduce the amount of test preparation and execution effort required.

• Test Execution: Accurately executes automated tests, comparing actual results with expected outcomes.

• Test Data Setup: Accurately sets up test data to enable the execution of automated testing.

• Static Testing: Undertakes reviews to identify defects and ambiguities in requirements, designs, specifications, and test cases.

• Exploratory Testing: Performs exploratory testing by defining test charters to give direction and purpose, capturing relevant information, and providing feedback to the team upon completion.

• Quality Feedback: Provides feedback on product quality to stakeholders, enabling them to make informed decisions.

What will you bring to the role?

Required:

• Minimum of 5 years of testing or quality assurance experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and implementing test automation solutions using automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Grafana, Appium or Katalon

• Experienced in test automation of external facing web applications

• Database Query experience

• RESTFUL or SOAP web services testing

• Experience with Java

• Agile experience

Preferred:

• Experienced in Performance and Load Testing

• Experience using log tools such as Sumo Logic, Splunk, or LogStash

• Additional Quality Assurance / QA Automation Engineering qualifications or certifications

• Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for testing Public Accessible applications

Compensation. The base salary range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations. This range reflects our good faith to pay fairly based on our job evaluation of this role and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and other job-related factors.

Minnesota: $79,000 - $119,000 per year USD.

North Carolina: $75,000 - $113,000 per year USD.

Maryland: $$83,000 - $125,000 per year USD.
