Quality Assurance Manager - Electro-Mechanical Production

Huntsville, AL

Full-Time

Salary: $85,000-$110,000

The Quality Assurance Manager oversees all quality assurance activities in an electro-mechanical assembly factory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving improvements in quality processes. This role includes managing quality metrics, preparing reports for senior management, and serving as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and customers on quality issues.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all quality assurance activities, including QMS audits, ensuring compliance with ISO and internal standards.
• Drive department performance by managing KPIs and implementing improvements in quality processes.
• Compile and present reports for Senior Management, providing updates on quality metrics, audit results, and corrective actions.
• Serve as the Management Representative for regulatory bodies, certification authorities, and customers, addressing and resolving quality-related concerns.
• Develop and optimize inspection equipment, procedures, and instructions to ensure compliance with quality standards and efficient production workflows.
• Analyze quality-related problems and recommend best-practice solutions to ensure timely resolutions.
• Interface directly with customers to resolve quality concerns and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Utilize the HSL ERP system (CORE) to manage and track quality assurance activities and metrics.
• Keep management informed of significant issues and developments, recommending improvement actions as necessary.
• Perform other duties assigned by Senior Management to support the organization's quality objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5-10 years of relevant experience in quality assurance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in quality assurance within an assembly or manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in applying quality tools and techniques, such as FMEA, PDCA, process mapping, and certification standards.
• Ability to read and interpret quality documents, assembly instructions, drawings, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in writing quality documents, executive reports, and customer correspondence.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to present to customers, auditors, and employees.
• Proficiency in probability, statistical inference, and applying mathematical concepts to practical situations (fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.).
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in email, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software.
• Ability to lift and move up to 5 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PCBA electronics assembly or contract manufacturing of electronic products.
• Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer.
• Certified ISO Auditor.
• Six Sigma belt holder or equivalent.
• IPC-J-STD and IPC-610 certifications.
