A growing construction company in Carroll County, Maryland is seeking a qualified Purchasing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Purchases materials for all projects daily.
• Purchases office supplies for office and field personnel.
• Tracks commodities for every job.
• Purchases steel, custom boxes, and rebar cages for all jobs.
• Orders Concrete.
• Tracks and Orders Rentals.
• Resolve delivery and backorder issues for each project and the warehouse.
• Negotiate terms and pricing with vendors.
• Assist Accounting Department with reconciling invoice discrepancies.
• Utilize ERP software to create, modify and record purchase orders.
• Maintain vendor contact list.
• Seek improvements to enhance efficiency and purchasing strategies for the organization.
• Work closely with Safety Manager to ensure all purchased PPE is approved for use.
• Assist Purchasing Manager with material costing and improvements to current purchasing strategies.
• Maintain all applicable spreadsheets assigned by Purchasing Manager.
• File packing slips in accordance with established standard operating procedure and retention schedule.
• Assist Purchasing Manager with assigned special projects.
• Assist Warehouse Team with inbound and outbound deliveries, when needed.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or electrical sales role, preferred.
