Vulcraft of New York, a division of Nucor Corporation, is seeking applicants for a Production Software Engineer position located in our Chemung, NY office. Basic Job Functions:

Vulcraft/Verco Group (VVG) Group Technology Services (GTS) is seeking a qualified and energetic Production Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be located at our Chemung New York division and will be instrumental in supporting advanced shop floor applications. As a Software Engineer within GTS you will be involved in planning, developing, maintaining, and implementing customized software applications with a focus on our shop floor. You will have the opportunity to be involved in every stage of development, from working with other team developers to working with business and production users in a manufacturing environment. This position will require occasional travel as needed for business or team needs.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Compensation Data

This is a salary, exempt role with annual compensation ranging from $95,000 - $136,000 plus division earned Profit Sharing Bonus and Return on Asset Bonus.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Five or more years of experience designing and developing scalable and secure business applications.
• One year or more experience with SCADA systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages and technologies such as C#, XML, .NET, and Visual Studio.
• Experience with web technologies such as Blazor, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Azure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with preparing and executing on detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and how to apply them.
• Understanding of Agile software development principles and experience participating in Agile projects.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Server/Services for team collaboration and Git for source control.
• Experience in designing and implementing scalable and secure solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with relational databases and writing SQL queries.
• Experience working within a production facility.
• Highly self-motivated with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
• General understanding of PLC program setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
