(Contingent upon available funding): 38,000.00 - 45,000.00, Salary Work Schedule: 8am to 5pm Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Two positions are available immediately for highly motivated postdoctoral scientists to conduct research focused on neurotropic herpesviruses, bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) and herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). These individuals will conduct research designed to understand the mechanisms by which neurotropic herpesviruses establish, maintain, and reactivate from latency. Studies focused on understanding the mechanism by which a viral protein expressed during latency regulates the latency-reactivation cycle will be conducted. Experience in molecular biology procedures (RT-PCR), cell culture techniques, reporter assay systems, RNA-Seq, chromatin immunoprecipitation assays, and statistical analyses of data are important. Previous experience working with virus infection processes and construction of recombinant viruses is also desirable but not required. The position is open for two years with possible extension, which is dependent on the performance of the individual and availability of grant funds. Please apply online at jobs/okstate.edu.
