Location: Reston, VA
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Plant Costing Manager/Cost Accountant for a food manufacturer in Reston, VA

Responsibilities:

• Track plant performance against budgets and identify cost trends.
• Collaborate with Planning to quantify production's financial impact.
• Partner with Accounting/Finance to ensure accurate daily reports.
• Guide Plant Managers on cost targets and standards.
• Analyze production yield, downtime, and labor, reporting on KPIs weekly.
• Monitor capacity and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Oversee financial transactions and reporting accuracy for Work in Process and Finished Goods.
• Lead internal and external financial audits and address findings with leadership.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify areas for production and cost efficiency improvement.
• Document department goals and procedures as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications:

• BA in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) with 5+ years' experience in reporting.
• 5+ years of food manufacturing or related production experience.
• Deep understanding of production costs and operational functions.
• Knowledge of Operations, Planning, and Forecasting's role in profit and loss (P&L).
• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Supervisory experience and experience with NetSuite or Plex preferred.
