Job Summary:

The Plant Controller is a key financial leader responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the plant operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and operations management, coupled with a CPA certification. This role will require a proactive approach to financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, as well as a deep understanding of plant-specific financial metrics and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Planning and Budgeting:
  
  • Develop and implement annual and long-term financial plans for the plant.
  • Prepare and manage detailed budgets for various plant operations, including production, maintenance, and administrative expenses.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and identify areas for improvement.
• Financial Reporting:
  
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
• Cost Accounting:
  
  • Implement and maintain effective cost accounting systems to track and analyze product costs.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Conduct variance analysis to understand cost drivers and performance trends.
• Financial Analysis:
  
  • Perform financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of proposed projects, investments, and initiatives.
  • Provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and their implications for the plant's overall financial health.
• Tax Compliance:
  
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including property taxes, sales taxes, and income taxes.
  • Prepare and file necessary tax returns.
• Internal Controls:
  
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of controls.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to address compliance issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a plant controller or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards.
• Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
