Position Overview for the Patient Access Representative:  

  • Patient Interaction: Conduct general registration duties by interviewing patients or their representatives, accurately entering information into systems, collecting co-payments, and obtaining necessary signatures while ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Maintain and manage scheduling for department activities and specialized procedures, coordinating with physicians' offices and other departments to verify room and equipment availability as needed.
  • Administrative Support: Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external visitors, answering phones, greeting individuals, providing directions, and addressing routine inquiries while performing general office support tasks such as document preparation and mail distribution.
  • Data Management: Perform routine data entry, document review, and record compilation, ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information while maintaining organized office files and activity logs, as well as overseeing inventory of office supplies and equipment.

Required Skills for the Patient Access Representative:  
  • Educational Background: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent relevant experience in an administrative support role, demonstrating proficiency in office procedures and customer service.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including data entry, word processing, and document preparation, with the ability to manage files and records efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying information clearly to diverse audiences, and demonstrating effective interpersonal skills in a customer service environment.
