Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Brandenburg is seeking an Occupational Nurse. This position will conduct the coordination of: Workers Compensation Claim Management; Developing, organizing, and delivering Health and Wellness training; Instruction of CPR and First Aid; Compiling, reviewing, and reporting injury/illness statistics; Administrating the plant drug and alcohol testing program, and ability to administer injections. Participating in division and company safety activities, initiatives, and audits in the plant. Organize medical emergency response team planning, review, develop and authorize safety and health policies and procedures. Oversee medical surveillance program. Examine new teammates to ensure they are in good health to perform their job duties. Follow up with teammates returning to work after injury or illness. This position is on call 24/7 for emergency situations, but routinely works day shift, Monday through Friday. This is a professional position with a high degree of responsibility.
This position requires willingness to spend time on the floor to obtain an understanding of the operations.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse/LPN/Paramedic
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in an industrial setting
• Experience with Worker's Compensation Claims and FMLA
• Occupational Health Experience
• General knowledge of Workers Compensation, OSHA, and ADA
• Experience in program development and training
• First Responder / EMT certification or willingness to obtain
