Basic Job Functions:
The NYS Shipping Inventory Assistant will be responsible for supporting our Inventory Coordinator and team with monitoring, analysis, and accuracy of all NYS finished goods, process and system improvements, may be required to work in all weather conditions, as well as holidays, weekends and overtime as needed, and must be able to meet all physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
Fostering a collaborative work environment while working closely with all our shipping, production, accounting and sales teams, and some travel to meet customer requirements will be required.
Key tasks will include supporting inventory and cycle counts, locating misplaced material, material reapplication, material reporting, assistance with certification of material for loading onto all NYS shipping modals, support of daily production tasks, training facilitation and assisting our Inventory team.

Minimum Requirements:
3+ years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related field, with a focus on finished goods in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

This also includes effectively anticipating and meeting customer needs and the ability to adjust approach based on the situation.

AS400/ERP experience
Inventory management software experience
ASCM or related membership/inventory management certification
Supply chain management experience
Steel industry experience
