Software Architect
Nucor Buildings Group is looking for a Software Architect to act as the highest-level technical expert on the development staff. This individual will perform feasibility analyses on potential future projects and technologies as well as providing enterprise-wide software development expertise, defining standards, policies and procedures and ensuring adoption. The Software Architect will research, evaluate and recommend new techniques to more effectively develop and deliver software and solutions as well as promote and advocate a culture of continuous improvement by setting goals and milestones and ensuring that they are met.
Basic Job Functions:

Software Engineering Expertise: Offer enterprise-wide software engineering expertise by defining standards, policies, and procedures while also ensuring their adoption.

Mentorship: Provide mentorship and coaching to software engineering and infrastructure teammates on industry and enterprise best practices.

Collaboration: Partner with Nucor Buildings Group Leadership and other product group peers to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Feasibility Analysis: Conduct feasibility analyses on potential future projects and emerging technologies.

Innovation: Research, evaluate, and recommend innovative techniques to enhance the development and delivery of software solutions with a focus on effectiveness and security.

Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by setting goals and milestones and ensuring they are achieved.

Communication Skills: Exhibit strong verbal, written, and graphical communication skills for effective internal and external interactions.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline. Equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered.
- Minimum 7 years related experience in designing and developing multi-tiered enterprise-wide business software solutions.
- Minimum 1 year experience leading implementation and adoption of architectural projects.
- Knowledge of software development best practices using Visual Basic.NET and C# following SDLC.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing APIs for internal and external consumption.
- Demonstratable, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Platform As A Service (PaaS) products such as Azure SQL, AppServices, Logic Apps, Functions and other serverless services.
- Understanding of Microsoft Identity and Access Management products such as Azure AD or AD B2C.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Server/Services or Git/GitHub for source control and team collaboration.
- Deep understanding of coding best practices and modern architectural patterns.
- Proven experience researching and implementing new technologies.
- Experience developing, deploying, and managing cloud-based applications in Microsoft Azure.
- Experience working within the principles of Agile development practices.
- Understanding of Microsoft D365 F&O Ecosystem.
