Job Description:
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Medicaid & Long-Term Care, is looking for a strategic partner for the position of MLTC Finance Fiscal Compliance Analyst . The successful candidate will participate in and support a culture where employees are highly motivated, energetic, excited and enthusiastic working for DHHS.
Examples of Work
Responsibilities include:
- Perform fiscal impact analysis for State Plan Amendments, regulation changes, program changes, and proposed legislation.
- Perform ad-hoc fi scal analysis for other units within MLTC (Health Services) or other divisions (DBH or DDD) to evaluate impacts or model potential outcomes and fiscal impacts of potential policy or healthcare delivery system reform.
- Perform standard, recurring fiscal analysis for required state and federal reports or data requests.
- Perform standard, recurring fiscal analysis for internal reporting, planning, and forecasting/budgeting for administrative and aid expenditures.
Requirements / QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Post high school education in any of the following areas: accounting, finance, public or business administration, economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related areas.
AND/OR Experience in any of the areas above including responsibility for any of the following functions: fiscal or accounting systems analysis; budget analysis or preparation; cost/benefit accounting and/or analysis; design and/or development of accounting control and reporting systems; financial auditing; fiscal records, management; or related areas.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field. Previous experience working for a healthcare provider and/or a healthcare carrier. Previous experience working in Medicaid or Medicare. Demonstrated experience with intermediate to advanced skills working with Microsoft Excel and/or Database.
Other: Position located in-office at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.
Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesDemonstrated problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently while incorporating direction and feedback.
