Position Overview

  • The Material and Logistics coordinator - will play a key role in providing continued quality of service to our Wind Power customers.
  • This position will require the physical ability to use, Step ladders to access
  • equipment, lift to 50lbs, work in remote locations and have a strong communication skill.
  • They must have the ability to analyze and react in stressful, high risk situations, and participate in the development of new/improved field procedures and best practices as well as mentoring new personnel.
  • This position is responsible for the projects inventory of small parts (parts to use to assemble wind turbine) and maintain the missing/lost part list. The ability to communicate effectively remotely with home office to order and
  • inventory those missing/lost parts.
  • Relocation will not be offered for this role.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the mobilization of all materials, parts, and tooling for a project site with the Project Engineer and Siemens Gamesa Tooling Warehouses for a wind turbines project site.
  • Supervise and train workers in Siemens Gamesa procedures for inventorying all materials for the erection of the wind turbine with contractor and customer.
  • Supervise and train employees in the use of "Siemens Gamesa Workspace" for material management functions as applied to Siemens Gamesa wind turbines.
  • Demonstrate to workers in inventorying all tooling for the erection of the wind turbine with contractor and customer according to internal Siemens Gamesa regulations.
  • Manage the process for resolving all material and tooling discrepancies, and reporting damages with site observation notices and the non- conformance (NCR) system.
  • Demonstrate and help train workers on how to order additional materials and tooling through SAP and Siemens Gamesa project 'Workspace".
  • Coordinate parts usage and failure rates with Commissioning leads to order parts for commissioning teams as needed.
  • Demonstrate, supervise and train workers on Siemens Gamesa process for tracking and reporting all faulty components back to the management team.
  • Assist site staff in identifying by part number, all items that need to be delivered to the customer or Purchase orders placed via SAP.
  • Help and direct workers with packing and coordinating with transportation all Transportation Equipment (TEQ) returns being exported to Denmark, and Germany.
Required Knowledge, Education, Experience and Skills
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • 100% travel required with the position.
  • Supervise the coordination with transportation for returning empty shipping containers back to port or depots.

    Instruct on how to use Siemens Gamesa procedures for monthly tracking of tooling on site against timelines and tooling budget.
