LOCATION: Marinette

STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday thru Thursday with flexibility to work Friday and evenings; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.

SALARY RANGE: $80,515- $86,777 per year

*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is an innovative leading-edge college dedicated to student success. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for developing and delivering customized electrical training required to install wiring systems to construct a naval vessel.

  • Manage the training process and associated curriculum review and development, and student advising within the area of training.

  • Assignments for this position are specifically located in Marinette at the North Coast Marine Manufacturing Training Center unless customer needs require training at other locations.

  • Train in courses to include, but not limited to basic electronics, digital electronics, motor controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC), drives, motors, system integration techniques, servos, transducers, HMI and networking, DC, AC, and low/medium voltage electricity.

  • Provide Electro-Mechanical type training which is customized to meet the needs of a variety of manufacturing organization in a flexible work-based environment on or off campus.

  • Respond to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and continually revise curriculum that includes multicultural perspectives, core abilities, and technical content to meet industry or regulatory standards to prepare graduates for successful careers.

  • Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.

  • Provide immediate, routine, and consistent feedback to students to assist them in improving performance in technical and core ability competencies.

  • Use data to measure quality outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and to design improvement strategies based on the evidence.

  • Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.

  • Participate in community and college-sponsored events to promote the college's programs and enhance community relationships.

  • Engage in division, department and team meetings and requirements including the development and completion of the college's strategic planning through team action plans and budget requests.

  • Maintain proficient knowledge and skill in emerging trends and current occupational practices by networking with regional industry leaders and participating in continuing education and professional development.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Minimum of a high school diploma, technical diploma or journeyman certification preferred

Experience: Minimum of four years current Marine Electrical shipyard experience

**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

Certification: Trainers are encouraged to complete the Faculty Quality Assurance System Professional Development.

Other Requirements

  • Previous teaching experience with adult learners is desired.

  • Ability to assist students with a variety of technical course material in an open, self-directed, trainer assisted manufacturing technology environment.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with IEE Std 45 recommended Practice for Electrical Installation shipboard preferred.

  • Knowledge and familiarity of CFR-46 Code of Federal regulations, Subchapter J Electrical Engineering preferred.

  • Knowledge and familiarity of ABS American Bureau of Rules: Steel Vessel Rules, Rules of Building and Classing Aluminum Vessels, Guide for Building and Classing High-Speed Naval Craft preferred.

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Mil-Std 2003B Department of Defense Standard Practice Electrical Plant Installations Standard Methods for Surface Ships and Submarines preferred.

  • Knowledge of theory and operation of a non-neutral three, two-, and single-phase power generated system.

  • Knowledge of the effects of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) in a non-earth system.

  • Knowledge of Mil-Std-1310G/1310H "Bonding and Grounding."

  • Knowledge of ship and shipyard terminology required.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with NEC.

  • Ability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
