Role Title: Managed Care Behavioral Health Medical Director
Duration: 6-month contract
Work Location: Remote (must have State of Nevada MD License)
Description:
The Medical Director is a key clinical leader within the health plan, responsible for developing and implementing patient care policies. This role involves serving as a medical liaison with contracted physicians and contributing to Quality Management, Case Management, and Utilization Review programs. The Medical Director oversees clinical aspects of plan products, including Medicare Advantage and ACA plans, focusing on Behavioral Health and Risk Adjustment Revenue enhancement. Additionally, the Medical Director will guide the Renown Health System's population health strategy in coordination with health plan initiatives. As a member of the Leadership team, the Medical Director participates in strategic planning for new and existing programs and product implementation related to Behavioral Health.
Education:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited university.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate clinical practice in direct patient care.
- Experience in managed care, including utilization and quality management, is preferred but not mandatory.
- Current and valid State of Nevada Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) license.
- Board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialists.
- This role is expected to require approximately 5 hours per week.
