Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary
Working under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Mechanic Lead Worker or designee. Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the general and technical maintenance and repair of all facilities, equipment and furnishings involving a variety of building trades. Performs assigned tasks to maintain the physical operations of the college, aesthetics of all facilities, and ensure a safe environment of students and staff. Work includes working with skilled tradesmen, helpers, and laborers in the daily maintenance tasks, as well as emergency repairs that are required to be completed.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and vocational training related to maintenance systems.
3+ years commercial and industrial maintenance experience.
Position requires a working knowledge of a variety of complex systems
Preferred Qualifications
Maintenance-related certifications and licensures.
HVAC Universal certification.
Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods.
Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary.
Valid motor vehicle operator's license if required.
Some experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and public relations communication skills; ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal skills.
Ability to perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to perform calculations related to necessary maintenance and repairs.
Ability to make decisions where precedents may not be established.
Customer service, time management, and organizational skills required.
Reasoning ability required to apply analytical problem-solving skills in order to determine how to perform required maintenance or repairs. Must be able to perform tasks guided by TBR and
JSCC policy, regulations, and guidelines from the EPA, TOSHA, and state and local electrical codes.
Pay Rate: $34,844-$41,813 Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
