We are a chemical systems biology group focused on developing creative mass spectrometry (MS)-based strategies, combined with data science, to understand mechanisms of metabolic regulation over protein function in health and disease. We aim to use this as a basis to develop translational therapeutics for aging, metabolic disease, and cancer. SCI is one of an elite number of National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country, and is a prominent, dynamic, growing and complex Institute within the Stanford University School of Medicine. The SCI actively works to build synergies and collaborations among faculty with cancer-relevant expertise from four Schools and over 30 departments across Stanford University. You will be working with an unparalleled leading-edge community of faculty and staff who work on both basic science and clinical/translational investigations, and who are fundamentally changing the world of biomedical science and health care.We are seeking a Life Science Research Professional 2 to perform experiments and data analysis, to contribute to publications, and to support activities in a newly-established group at Stanford. The successful candidate will perform cellular and animal experiments, proteomics, metabolomics, and computational analyses that interface with ongoing biology efforts in the laboratory. The role is highly collaborative with opportunities for independent work that contributes to long-term goal of the laboratory. The LSRP2 will perform complex functions and activities involved in defined research projects, and independently conduct a portion of the research project(s). The LSRP2 will be able to directly work with the principal investigator and other members of the lab in a collaborative environment.
