Job Description:
Are you an organized individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for customer service? The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission is looking for someone like you to join our team! This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to dive into the world of horse racing and gaming regulation in Nebraska. Examples of Work
•Handles the daily processing of licensing applications, including answering applicant questions, reviewing applications, obtaining fingerprints, processing payments, and maintaining spreadsheets.
•Enters applicant information into databases for eligibility determination.
•Coordinates renewal notices to ensure licensees maintain their status.
•Collaborates with other NRGC divisions and the Nebraska State Patrol on background checks and fingerprinting.
•Maintains secure files for applicant records.
•Assists with processing appeal requests for prospective licensees.
•Supports the implementation of Nebraska Statutes and Rules and Regulations under Title 294 and Title 296.
•Embraces additional responsibilities as needed to support the Commission's evolving needs.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience in public contact, customer service, and/or performing and applying office/clerical support procedures, including the use of a personal computer, associated software, and office equipment.

Other: This job requires regular, reliable onsite attendance. Position requires occasional in-state travel. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Friendly and helpful attitude.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in using computers and the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Capable of understanding, interpreting, and applying various rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and laws.
  • Ability to travel to other NRGC locations on occasion.
