Colgate Student Health Services provides high-quality, confidential, and equitable healthcare and education to empower all students. Student Health Services offers routine medical care, gender-appropriate health services, and mental health services while promoting wellness through health education. Student Health Services is part of an integrated Health and Wellness team, partnering with the university's Counseling Center, Haven Sexual Assault Resource Center, and Shaw Wellness Institute to provide a holistic approach to health and wellness.
This is a 10-month position (June/July off) that carries 12 months of benefits.
As LPN, this position is primarily responsible for the delivery of health care services to students under supervision of an RN or provider in accordance with NYS Education law Section 6902. Areas of focus include responsibility for:
Direct Patient Care
Description:Demonstrated ability to efficiently and accurately evaluate and triage patients within scope of practice. Demonstrated ability to execute protocols related to patient care.

Description:Maintenance of New York State licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Maintenance of BLS/AED certification for the healthcare professional. Maintenance of annual OSHA and bloodborne pathogen training.

Professional Experience/ Qualifications:Completion of an accredited licensed practical nurse program and current NYS license
Certifications:Maintenance of New York State licensure and BLS/AED healthcare professional certification and maintenance of annual OSHA and bloodborne pathogen training is required
Physical Requirements:Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and standing or walking for more than six (6) hours per day. The work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment. Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.
