Job Title: Civil Lead Estimator

Location: Houston, Texas

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Lead Estimator with extensive experience in underground utilities, wastewater, sanitary sewer, and microtunneling projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using HeavyBid software to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, focusing on underground utilities, wastewater, sanitary sewer, and microtunneling.
• Utilize HeavyBid software to develop accurate and competitive bids.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in bid review meetings and provide input on project feasibility and risk assessment.
• Ensure all estimates are prepared in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil estimating, with a focus on underground utilities, wastewater, sanitary sewer, and microtunneling projects.
• Proficiency in HeavyBid software.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other estimating software such as HCSS, AutoCAD, and P6.
• Field experience in civil construction projects.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Estimating (CPE).
