We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in New York City. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a Lead Applications Developer, you will be part of an agile product development team supporting major global business and technology transformation initiatives. You will be responsible for designing and developing complex custom software solutions to meet Marsh's business requirements, acting as a subject matter expert and senior individual contributor.
We will count on you to:
- Oversee the entire life cycle of software applications, ensuring user needs, performance requirements, and security standards are met.
- Lead the design and implementation of applications, collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, and Business Users to achieve business goals.
- Serve as the central Technical Leader for the Global Product Team, ensuring continuous program increment deliveries across multiple regions.
- Automate build, test, and deployment processes as part of the CI/CD pipeline, working closely with the DevOps team.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to the development team, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
What you need to have:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience encompassing 10+ years of development experience in applications development using Java and JavaScript technologies.
- Proven experience as a Lead Applications Developer with hands-on experience in solution design and development.
- Extensive experience in Agile best practices and designing solutions for rapid build, test, and deployment.
- In-depth knowledge of modern software architectures, including microservices, APIs, and cloud computing.
What makes you stand out:
- Experience with MEAN/MERN stack (Angular, React, Node, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Unqork, Power Platform, Mendix).
- Knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring (APM) techniques.
- Experience with DevSecOps tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $105,800 to $211,600.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
