Role Purpose
This role is essential for enhancing internal communications within the firm. By supporting the development and execution of strategic communications, managing content, and coordinating key meetings, the Internal Communications Specialist will contribute to a cohesive and engaged workforce. The specialist will play a crucial role in aligning internal communications with the firm's broader objectives, fostering a positive and informed workplace.

Context:
The Internal Communications Specialist will be a pivotal player in building the internal communications function within the U.S. and Americas region. This role involves managing various internal communications projects, creating compelling content, and leveraging engagement tools to strengthen our communication strategies. The ideal candidate will excel in cross-departmental collaboration, content creation, and the management of both in-person and virtual meetings, contributing to a cohesive and effective internal communications framework. They will also bring a background in internal communications, with a foundation in the principles and essential building blocks of effective and meaningful strategies and tactics.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Intranet Development

  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of the U.S. and Americas intranet pages.
  • Create and curate engaging content, develop content calendars, and ensure timely posting of updates to keep employees informed and connected.
Content Creation
  • Create engaging, clear, and relevant content for diverse audiences and platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of internal announcements, updates, and other communication materials.
  • Ensure that content aligns with the firm's internal communication strategy and objectives, while supporting the firm's overall strategic direction.
Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the firm's strategy and collaborate with various teams to develop internal communications that align with and drive these goals. This includes supporting the firm's responsible business initiatives, people-focused priorities, and distinct practice groups to strengthen and amplify their internal communication efforts.
  • Act as a liaison to understand the communication needs for various groups and deliver tailored solutions.
Regional and Firmwide Meetings
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of both in-person and virtual meetings and initiatives.
  • Ensure that these meetings align with the internal communications strategy and effectively support the firm's objectives.
Leadership Communications
  • Assist in the development and execution of internal communications on behalf of firm leadership.
  • Ensure that leadership messages are well-crafted, timely, and effectively communicated to the intended audience.
Project Management
  • Lead the development of a content calendar for the U.S. and Americas, and leverage analytics to measure the team's approach and impact.
  • Support the coordination of comprehensive communications campaigns (i.e., involving external communications and social media to ensure a seamless experience of our stakeholders.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in internal communications, preferably within a professional service or corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing intranet content and utilizing engagement tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • A storyteller with proven writing and editing skills and the ability to produce engaging, succinct, and relevant content.
  • Experience in a global or elite law firm setting.
  • Familiarity with DEI and Pro Bono communication strategies.
  • Experience in supporting high-profile meetings and communications for leadership.
  • Proficiency in using internal communication and content management tools.
