Job Description

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for the design of MedCerts self-produced eLearning content, and driving improvements related to the delivery of all MedCerts training. They will design, develop, and implement innovative and creative learning solutions using a variety of methods and tools, They will regularly participate in needs assessment to ensure materials address learner needs and close performance gaps. As needed or required by a project - they will contribute towards script and assessment writing for various forms and elements.

As a key member of this team, the ID collaborates with team members such as project managers, SME resources, editors, learning technologists, and interactive media developers to revise and create new courses that are effective, highly engaging, and meet quality standards. This role will focus on the maintenance and development of courses in the IT field, soft/durable skills, project management, and other fields. We are seeking candidates who can help us create dynamic, engaging, exciting learning content with an emphasis on user-centered design, user experience (UX), and accessibility for all learners.

They will continuously mentor and support all contracted SME resources throughout each project plan and establish standards under which all contractors will operate.

The Instructional Designer may be listed as an Instructor in support of the program and will be required to maintain currently held credentials, as required by licensing and regulatory authorities.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with Product Team members and external contractors to create, revise, and improve high quality, engaging eLearning content.
  • Responsible for establishing the instructional design for all new IT, Soft Skill, and other (non-healthcare) course/module builds
  • Rapidly gain understanding of production and product delivery capabilities and ensure all design strategies align with these capabilities.
  • Responsible for specialization program and course builds within external 3rd party eLearning platforms. Writes or coordinates efforts to write unique assessments and option-level feedback as required for each offering.
  • Collaborates with Project Manager and offshore team for elements builds
  • Continuously evaluate ID standards, techniques, and concepts to improve our instructional content through innovation and best-practices.
  • Assist in identifying, qualifying, and on-boarding contracted resources for new and ongoing projects.
  • Leveraging AI Course Authoring Tool, work independently and with other in-house or contracted resources to create content/storyboards.
  • Strategically partner with the Project Manager to ensure projects are clearly defined, planned in accordance with realistic expected launch dates, and are ultimately delivered on time and on budget.
  • Maintain a forward-thinking approach to solving eLearning challenges. Be receptive to new and innovative ways to improve all aspects of MedCerts content and delivery of content.
  • Work closely with SMEs to provide overall direction on assigned development projects, maintaining communication with all team members and coordinating meetings as needed to keep projects on track
  • Ensures all MedCerts instructional content is compliant with accessibility standards.
  • Ensures course content is designed to align with pre-established objectives and knowledge domains published by 3rd party credentialing authorities, while meeting the needs of employers or academic partners.
  • Create supplemental learning resources to fill content gaps and address deficiencies in training materials.
  • Writes scripts to be used in various course elements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in the field of Instructional Design, curriculum development, or eLearning content creation
  • Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS)
  • Must have superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Explicit accuracy and attention to detail in delivery of information
  • High comfort level with the use of technology for communication and task completion
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
  • Able to produce quality content within expected timelines
  • Must be 100% committed to Quality Assurance.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

MedCerts, a Stride, Inc. company considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

We anticipate the salary range to be $75,000 and $95,000 UDS plus bonus. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
