In Vivo Technical Scientist

Are you ready to make a difference in the world of preclinical research? As a Scientist in our Animal Sciences & Technologies team, you will be conducting hands-on research with multiple laboratory animal species. Your work will be essential in generating data for a wide variety of study types. This role requires an individual who can work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring the care and wellbeing of our laboratory animals.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for technical procedures such as animal identification, collecting biological samples, and administering test articles via various routes of administration. You will generate clear, complete, and accurate data sets, documenting raw data in computerized data capturing systems and on hand-written records. You will also be expected to work flexibly across different areas and participate in providing weekend and out of hours support. Effective communication skills are critical as you will liaise with scientists for cross-functional discussions, project-related matters, and progress reporting.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • BSc degree or equivalent or relevant experience within the discipline (1-3 years)
  • Understanding of the principles and concepts associated with own subject/specialist area and an appreciation of the relevant science and literature
  • Problem-solving skills related to in vivo research and data analysis
  • Understanding of internal compliance systems
  • Good communication skills

Desirable Skills/Experience:
  • Experience in blood collection methods in rodents (submandibular collection)
  • Experience in various dosing routes in rodents (SQ, IP, IV, PO)
  • Rat handling and technical experience
  • Ability to lead a small in vivo sciences project.
  • Problem-solving skills related to in vivo research and data analysis
