We are looking for graduate research assistants who are highly motivated, well-organized, and dynamic with high levels of independence and creative thinking to join the Demehri Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. The focus of the Demehri laboratory is to determine the role of the immune system in regulating the early stages of cancer development in order to harness its anti-tumor potential for cancer treatment and prevention.

This position requires an individual who will be able to perform standard laboratory procedures. There will be routine maintenance work for supporting the laboratory such as general laboratory inventory, autoclaving and supplying stock reagents. This position also requires performing routine immunological assays and animal procedures. This lab investigates the role of the immune system in modulating the early stages of cancer development and uses several animal models of cancer to fully determine the immune system and cancer interactions.

REQUIREMENTS
This position requires animal care and experimentations. The techniques will be taught to the person by experienced laboratory staff.
This position requires ordering, stocking and reagent preparation.
The person will be expected maintain good records.
The person will perform research experiments under the supervision of research fellows and assist with their projects.
The person will perform animal husbandry including genotyping and weaning pups, animal experiments including T cell transfer and tumor implantation, laboratory experiments including tissue culture, RNA and DNA preparation, qRT-PCR, tissue preparation and histological analysis, flow cytometry on a routine basis.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: This section should be a bulleted list of minimum requirements explaining the skills (what the individual is trained for) and competencies (measurable as defined by the job) necessary to perform the job.
§ We are looking for a motivated person who exhibits initiative and is able to work independently when trained. Previous laboratory experience is encouraged but not required.

§ The person will need to be able to work in a group environment and be of assistance to a number of research projects.

Qualifications

Must be in enrolled in a Master's Degree Program with a concentration in one of the following areas or related: biology, medicine, cancer biology, immunology, genomics, computational biology.
