Government Relations Manager

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (3-4 days/week onsite in office). When reporting to the office, the location will be on MMM Chardon Building located on PR-SAN JUAN, EDIFICIO TORRE CHARDON AVE. CHARDON 350 SUITE 500. Travel to additional office locations may be required.

Schedule: This position will work a 1st Shift from 8:00 am- 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Additional hours or days may be required based on operational needs.

The Government Relations Manager is responsible for advocating enterprise and Puerto Rico specific legislative and regulatory positions to support business goals and objectives.

How you will make an impact

Primary duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Establishes and maintains positive working with legislators, policymakers and their staff.
  • Represents the enterprise and its specific businesses with legislators, regulators, other policymakers and their staff, trade associations, and other advocacy organizations.
  • Administers PAC and corporate political contributions.
  • Utilizes coalitions and grassroots capabilities to support and enhance advocacy initiatives.
  • Consults with local business leaders [SBUs and CEEs] to inform and support business planning processes.
  • Supports direct messaging and advocacy with elected and appointed officials in support of our legislative, regulatory, and business priorities.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field; 5 years of legislative, regulatory, political, public affairs or industry experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
  • Bilingual ( English & Spanish) Strongly Preferred.
