Full-Time Part-Time Temporary Faculty Positions in Art & DesignSpring 2025

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The university is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of Art & Design at Kutztown University invites applications for multiple, temporary full and/or part-time positions for Spring 2025 in various visual arts disciplines.

Requirements: Master's degree in art or a related area; strong professional portfolio of personal and student artwork; teaching experience of at least one year or equivalent in related coursework to be taught. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service.

Courses requiring coverage include (but are not limited to): undergraduate courses in Foundations (including Intro to 2D Design,) Drawing (including Drawing 2), Intro to Time-Based Media, and Intro to Painting. We seek applicants committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community of faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Art & Design and across the university.

Courses are taught face-to-face for Spring 2025. Note: if the course/s format changes to hybrid and/or online, it will require successful completion of the Teaching Online Certification Course offered through Kutztown University.

Successful interview and demonstration of relevant abilities are required. Submit a letter of application indicating your specific course interest and teaching areas, statement of teaching philosophy, curriculum vita, names and contact information for three references, ten samples of personal artwork, ten samples of student artwork, and unofficial transcripts.
