Educational and Experience Requirement:High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. A minimum of four years relevant clerical experience or experience in a related field. Financial aid or other university-related work experience would be helpful. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Provides personalized Financial Aid customer service to prospective and current students/parents and assists in determining aid eligibility for current and prospective students.
Primary Responsibilities:Analyzes students' awards and processes loan revisions as required. Assists in verifying eligibility for Parent Plus Loans and external private loans. Runs processes and exports files. Assists in reviewing students' financial aid manual awards, and Cost of Attendance (COA). Resolves and reconciles rejected loan records and researches loan disbursement errors. Assists in running daily files to facilitate the Course Program of Study (CPoS) process. Assists in developing policies and interprets policies and procedures. May be responsible for planning and participating in special projects. Maintains complex files. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Requires answering telephones. During peak periods, telephone work load may be extensive. Requires ability to work at the front desk, encountering students, parents, etc. Requires ability to retain and relay financial information to students and parents. Experience with Financial Aid Software helpful. Computer skills required.
Up to 40% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
