Job Description
SCHEDULE:

Full Time Day 7:30am-4pm

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for assembling and building or re-constructing patient rooms, corridors, or offices from concept to completion. Must be able to coordinate contract services, if needed, and phase specialty work (plumbing, electrical, communication).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

1. Read blueprints.

2. Assists in securing bids.

3. Acquires building materials.

4. Assembles millwork.

5. Lays flooring (carpet, tile).

6. Prepares drywall for maintenance apprentices.

7. Has ability to conceive a project.

8. Works with outside contractors to ensure quality work.

9. Assists in awarding contracts to "outside contractors".

10. Installs suspended ceilings.

11. Recommend tool purchasing.

12. Shovels snow; spreads sand and salt.

13. Strives to achieve excellence of service as described in CARE Manual.

14. Responds to the following Shore Health System codes: Code Red, Code Pink, Code D and Code U.

15. Responsible for honest behavior in all matters. To the best of the employee's knowledge and understanding, complies with all Federal and State Laws and Regulations.

16. Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.

17. Performs related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  • Five years experience with a construction company preferably as Job Foreman.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be licensed, insured driver.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
  • Work sites may require access by climbing and crawling and, at times, may be at high or low temperatures.
  • The use of ear and eye protection is required.
  • Exposure to electrical shock, chemicals, dust, and other hazards may be present depending on work area.
