Designs, organizes, applies, and conducts medically prescribed exercise programs directed at the physical reconditioning of patients who exhibit cardiac and pulmonary inefficiency. Designs, organizes, applies, and conducts exercise programs directed at the continual well-being and improved exercise tolerance for geriatric clients and clients afflicted with a physical impairment which requires exercise in a controlled environment. Evaluates each patient who is referred by a physician to the program for monitored progressive exercise sessions. Documents and evaluates each session on appropriate paperwork.
REQUIREMENTS:
1) B.S. degree in athletic training, health promotion, physical education, or other pertinent degree, which exhibits an understanding and skill in exercise physiology
2) National certification in exercise pertinent to exercise program and development, preferred
3) Certification pertinent to geriatric clients or clients who are physically impaired or exhibit pulmonary and cardiac inefficiency, preferred
4) Knowledge relative to age of patients served
5) Ability to make sound judgments and deal tactfully with patients while maintaining empathetic and understanding attitude toward patients
6)Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain
7) Ability to learn from others
8) Ability to hold in strict confidence all hospital and professional matters.
9) Ability to successfully pass Background Check and Drug Screen.
Salary commensurate with up to 10 years experience.
