Pay: $23/hr,
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Dispatcher/Scheduler with experience in intermodal transportation, ports, and rail operations. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage scheduling, order creation, and dispatching, ensuring timely deliveries while providing exceptional support to drivers and maintaining effective communication with both internal teams and external customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the office scheduling process and create orders for timely dispatch.
- Dispatch drivers, and owner-operators, and coordinate with Cintrix systems.
- Utilize Omnitracs and port tracking for effective fleet management.
- Oversee random drug testing, physical examinations, and management of expiring items/documents through Protread.
- Conduct track and trace activities to monitor shipments.
- Perform data entry tasks and ensure accurate records are maintained.
- Schedule and dispatch drivers based on availability and delivery requirements.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and team members to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues that arise.
- Provide consistent support to drivers and assist in problem-solving as needed.
- Monitor drivers' Hours of Service (HOS) to ensure compliance.
- Track and manage driver status using Samsara.
- Operate the Transportation Management System (TMS) to streamline logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in logistics, dispatching, or transportation management, particularly in intermodal, rail, and port operations.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Proficient in using transportation management systems, Omnitracs, and tracking technologies.
- Familiarity with regulations related to driver hours and safety standards.
